La Piazzeta is a personal favourite in Oliveira de Frades. This simple restaurant has excellent Italian food on a budget. The pizzas are great, and we recommend the starter with roasted brocoli and cheese. The wines are good, as well as the limoncello to square things off

Mickas is an amazing guy! He built his brewery himself, using local wood and he also makes amazing beer. Even people who normally don't like beer appreciate his fine hops and malts. Highly recommended!

Parks & Nature

The Teixeira River has been considered the least polluted river in Europe in the 90's and had the second-best river beach in Europe in terms of the quality of its water (that is now, unfortunately, under water, due to the Ribeiradio-Ermida dam). It still is a magical place, with endemic flora that exists nowhere else
