Parks & Nature
If you go all the way to the left of the Lake there is a tiny marina and a beach. You can rent boats there and relax in the shade. They even have a few lounge chairs and tables.

Beautiful little lake with a beach. About 30 minutes hike from the parking lot. Beware, need to pay for parking. Used to be $7. There is no attendant on site, so take exact change. Closed during the winter and early spring.

A little pond just 2 minutes drive from our place. This pond's goal in life is to teach kids how to fish. In fact, it's illegal to fish there if you are above 14 without kids' supervision.

Not sure about the restaurant itself but the beach it's on is pretty nice. Centrally located, good views, the resort it's located on keeps it clean, there is a restaurant at the resort if you go hungry. We go here often.

Hiking trails real close to our place. Drive down Tahoe Mountain Road and you will see spots to park on your left. Explore from there.

Several different trails to choose from. It does get pretty busy and there may be traffic on weekends. There is camping grounds up to this point. There is a small parking where the trail starts. If you don't find available spots, then go back to Emerald Bay Rd and park there.

They don't (usually) have food. Just beer, games, events. Nice and relaxing place. You can actually bike there from our house though getting back might be challenging. If you do decide to bike, you can park your car near Sawmill Pond and bike from there.

Nice beach nearby and a historic site. Access to the beach is free and usually no issues with parking. Even if parking is full, you can park on Emerald Bay Rd. It will be about 5 mins walk then.
