First built as a one room schoolhouse serving the Luce Hill area back in the 1830’s, the building was purchased by Mark and Marie Poor in 1940 and moved down to the present location on what was then thier farm. In 1968, the Poor Estate sold the building and land to Aldi and Ingeborg Yoerg. Over time, each successive owner shaped Edelweiss in important ways. Today, as a local institution, Edelweiss serves Stowe while honoring its historic and recent past as a place where community is built, one conversation, one sandwich or salad and one remarkable beverage at a time.

l started working with chocolate in 1994 and have learned from generations of candy makers. Now, my kids are learning and working in the shop alongside me and the amazing team working hard to deliver an exceptional product every time. Our truffles, caramels, buttercreams, marshmallow, fudge, and buttercrunch are all cooked in-house and individually prepared to be perfectly coated in chocolate. Creating joy simply and deliciously is always the goal. We use all natural ingredients and make everything in small batches.
