Less than 2 miles from the house, Scusset Beach State Park is a public beach with plenty of parking. You have to pay to park but they have amenities such as lifeguards, a food shack (with delicious burgers!) and showers. You can also access the famous Cape Cod Canal here at this beach.

About a mile from the house is the famous Cape Cod Canal. It's a seven-mile-long stretch where you can walk, bike, run and fish along the side and watch the ships and large barges pass through. It separates the mainland from Cape Cod. There are also hidden parks along the way. There are three bridges across the canal. The Bourne and Sagamore bridges take you to the island side of Cape Cod. The Railroad Bridge is a sight to see as it raises and lowers allowing the train to cross the canal. You can also take the train to the tip of the cape and enjoy a dinner excursion on the train.

Or take a stroll on the Sandwich Boardwalk, which crosses acres of creek and marshlands home to all kinds of wildlife. Or drink from the Artesian Well and taste some of the freshest natural water from mother nature. You'll find the well in the center of Sandwich Village. The water is free (bring a bottle to fill it up), crystal clear, refreshingly cold and the best-tasting, freshest water ever.
