About a mile from the house is the famous Cape Cod Canal. It's a seven-mile-long stretch where you can walk, bike, run and fish along the side and watch the ships and large barges pass through. It separates the mainland from Cape Cod. There are also hidden parks along the way. There are three bridges across the canal. The Bourne and Sagamore bridges take you to the island side of Cape Cod. The Railroad Bridge is a sight to see as it raises and lowers allowing the train to cross the canal. You can also take the train to the tip of the cape and enjoy a dinner excursion on the train.

Provincetown is quite a drive from the house since it's at the very tip of the Cape (and the house is at the beginning edge of the Cape) but it's worth the drive if you're into exploring everything the Cape has to offer. And you'll pass through all the quaint towns of the Cape along the way. P-town, as it's lovingly called, sits at the edge of the continent, 60 miles out to sea. Visitors are drawn to this remote swatch of land for the beautiful beaches, delicious restaurants, art galleries and charming shops. A favorite LGBTQ+ destination, Provincetown has a rich creative history as the oldest continuous art colony in the country.

Sandwich is the oldest town in Cape Cod. It's a quaint little village rich with history, lots of shops and old colonial houses. About 4 miles from the house. You can visit the Trout Hatchery with the kids - bring quarters to buy fish food and let the kids be entertained as they feed the fish. There's also the Heritage Museum & Gardens which has 100+ acres of gorgeous gardens, three museums, and a special "Hidden Hollow" for the kids. Or take a stroll on the Sandwich Boardwalk, which crosses acres of creek and marshlands home to all kinds of wildlife. Or drink from the Artesian Well and taste some of the freshest natural water from mother nature. You'll find the well in the center of Sandwich Village. The water is free (bring a bottle to fill it up), crystal clear, refreshingly cold and the best-tasting, freshest water ever.

Nearest pizza. They don't deliver but it's 1.5 miles away from the house (in the same shopping strip as Ace Hardware and Ye Old Spirit Shoppe - also in this guide). I wouldn't say it's the best pizza but it's fast, convenient and gets the job done for those lazy don't-want-to-cook in-home movie nights.
