We have had excellent experiences at all of the locally owned, featured establishments below. When we aren't cooking breakfast or grilling up dinner at the Cottage, these are our go to spots! Every spot listed is family friendly. Check their websites for your furry family members and special events.
Located in the heart of Harmony’s National Historic District, The Harmony Inn features a menu sure to please, from historic German to southwestern fiery specialties. The happening bar scene is populated with folks from today and sometimes yesterday-complete with sighting photos and stories! Innumerable media reports from all over Western Pennsylvania account on the haunting of the Harmony Inn. Several witnesses have reported seeing a little girl in a white dress roaming the upstairs of the Harmony Inn and furniture has been rearranged without human intervention. Customers have also reported feeling a significant warm temperature inflection at certain periods of the day, although it seems to occur more frequently at dusk. Although employees and customers are often frightened by the unexplained images, everyone reports that their encounters have always been friendly.

The Log Cabin Inn not only features a full service bar with seasonal favorites but also aged Black Angus beef, chops, steaks, fresh seafood, sandwiches, soups & salads. Watch for the dessert tray featuring homemade desserts made daily by our pastry chef. Grab a seat on the great outdoor deck overlooking the woods and you will forget that you are only steps from Route 19.

Markets and Butcher Shops
One of our favorite things about visiting this area is the opportunity to shop local. We do not have quality butcher shops and family owned markets in Fort Lauderdale, like the one's I have shared here. We stock up on delicious products every visit!
Elluinger's Meat and Deli is our one stop shop for fresh groceries. They've got everything from Fresh Meats, Vegetables, Cheeses, Hot and Cold Sandwiches, and Ready to eat "Broaster Chicken"!

Just a 2 minute drive from the property, this is our go to for the best bacon and smoked meats in town. We are crazy about their pepper bacon when they have it in stock! Their Fresh Meats are also fantastic for grilling at the Cottage.

State Parks
Moraine State Park is 16,725 acres, with 1,750 square feet of beach, 71 miles of trails and 42 miles of shoreline. What can you do with all of that space? Hike 38 miles. Bike seven miles. Mountain bike for six miles. Snowmobile for 26 miles. Have a picnic at one of the park’s 705 picnic tables. The central feature of the park is the 3,225-acre Lake Arthur with 42 miles of shoreline. Each year, more than one million boaters, picnickers, hikers, bikers, horseback riders, cabin renters, and swimmers visit the 16,725-acre park. Keep your boat on the lake with 542 marina slips and 395 mooring spaces.

Created by the draining of glacial lakes thousands of years ago, the gorge has steep sides and the valley floor is littered with huge boulders. The gristmill was built in the 1800’s to grind grain for the community. The park is open from sunrise to sunset, year-round.

Located across the street from the Cottage, this third generation, family owned business features an 18 hole golf course, full restaurant and bar.
The restaurant and pro shop are open on a seasonal basis, with the 2017 season beginning March 13th until October 27th.

Strawberry Ridge is a public golf course located approximately 2 miles north of Zelienople...only a short drive from the Cottage. They offer challenging, flat fairways with large inviting greens designed to accommodate all skill levels of play.
Experience their 18 Hole, Par 70 championship course measuring over 6000 yds, our driving range featuring natural grass tees and target holes of varying lengths, a practice bunker, and a well maintained putting green.
The Ridge Pub is on site and offers well priced, delicious lunch and early dinners.
