If you are in Montreal for few days, don't miss a day trip to Mont Tremblant, in the Mountain the scenery is unbeatable. It is only 90 minutes by car. Take a guided tour boat on Lac Tremblant for an hour, take the free Gondola at the mountain village, do some Luge, take the telepherique to the top of the mountain, your day will be gone before you blink your eyes.

This is a must visit if you are in Montreal only for a couple of days: You will find there the Botanical Garden that has the Insectarium, the Japanese Garden and so many other things, then there is the Biodome with fauna and flora of 4 different climates. Just beside is the Planetarium. A full day will be needed and conveniently there are two Metro stations, one at each side of the Stadium: Viau and Pie IX.

There is a small mountain named Mont Royal in the middle of this island on the St Laurence river. You guessed right, it gave the name Montreal to the city. You can go to the top and have a complete view of downtown. There is a lac, hiking paradise, autumn is the best time to visit.

I would say that when you are in Old MOntreal, have a look at the Notre Dame Church but if you want to see something special, go to St Joseph Oratory. That is a half day trip. The bottom church has a classical architecture but on top of it there is another Church, ultra modern architecture, a giant organ, out of this world. And when you start walking down, perhaps you can hear the Bell song: someone playing bells of all sizes attached to each key of a piano and making a song that you have to stop and listen. Unique experience!
