Easy - Hike/walk

Accessible walk for most everyone, suitable for an easy stroll.
Length: 3 km Elevation Gain: 91 Stairs Located on the North side of Tofino - 10 minute drive from Surfers Guesthouse Our most recommended hike, walk, and beach for guests to check out. This trail has some stairs, but and a big step here and there, but is well worth checking out rain or shine. The beach is often very quiet and peaceful.

Length: 0.2 km Elevation Gain: 11 m Located in the Pacific Rim National Park - 7 minute drive from Surfers Guesthouse. More of a lookout than a "hike", don't plan your whole day around this very short walk, but worth going to check out if you have your hiking boots on. Only recommended on clear days as it's a scenic view, and very short little trail. Bonus: park at the bottom of the hill and run up the road to the top, a popular workout.

Medium - Walk/hike

Average difficulty and length. Come prepared for wildlife and a bit more of a "hike".
Distance: 0.5 km Elevation gain: 6 Stairs Located in the Pacific Rim National Park - 15 minute drive from Surfers Guesthouse. The trail itself isn't much of a challenge, but the beach is very rugged and vast. *Check ahead if dogs are permitted, as the Park restricts dogs (on or off leash) occasionally, due to migratory & protected birds on the beach.

Length: 1 km Elevation gain: 123 Stairs Located in Ucluelet - 24 minute drive from Surfers Guesthouse. Half Moon Bay trail & beach are the main highlights of this trail. This beach is a very quiet and incredible little spot. Honestly one of the best around here, but often overlooked or not spoken of for whatever reason. Another tough one to actually find the trail head, but we'll say it's a gravel road on the right side of the highway, approx 2 km past the junction on your way into Ucluelet. drive to the end and park near the yellow gate.

Difficult - Walk/hike

More advanced hikes. Might involve climbing with hand, getting really dirty, or just difficult to navigate.
Length: 2.6km Elevation Gain: 115m Located in Tofino - 3 minute drive from Surfers Guesthouse - ALSO very walkable directly from Surfers Guesthouse - the closest hike on this list, also the most challenging. Unmarked trail head at the south end of Cox Bay, everyone ends up taking a different route up. It's muddy, very uneven terrain, and can involve climbing with your hands in certain areas. But on the right day, it's THE postcard/Instagram view.

Length: 5 km Elevation Gain: 35m Located in the Pacific Rim National Park - 6 minute drive from Surfers Guesthouse. Although the Park has added boardwalks to this somewhat unmarked trailed, get ready to get muddy. The right time of the year and drier days make it easier, but it's rare anyone comes out clean and fresh. Worth a look at the 1945 Royal Canadian Air Force Canso 11007 plane though!
