At low tide the firm sand goes on forever and gets so nice and warm in the Sunshine. It's never crowded and is becoming a hot spot for local surfers. https://parks.novascotia.ca/park/mavillette-beach

The furthest point West on mainland Nova Scotia. Tall rugged cliffs near the lighthouse overlooking the Ocean. A great place to watch a sunset and it's only 1.5 km away. https://www.novascotia.com/see-do/attractions/cape-saint-mary-lighthouse-park/7637

Drive in through the wharfs and see all the fishing vessels as you pull up to the Cape Forchu lighthouse. Paved pathways wind through the rocks and offer some great views. Don't forget to watch for seals as they bob in and out of the water. There is also a small restaurant and washrooms on site. https://capeforchu.com/

About 6 minutes North you will find Smuggler's cove where bootleggers used to make their exchange and leave their cache in the cave. At high tide you can kayak inside.

My wife and I have done this walk a few times, trails are well marked...some of it is rough terrain and when the waters are high the floating boardwalks can be a little dicey. We both got wet boots, but that didn't slow us down and we always love the scenery.

One of the oldest cities in Canada. It was the Capitol city of Nova Scotia for 150 years until Halifax was founded. Home to many battles during past wars it is now a beautiful town filled with amazing architecture, artists, shops and restaurants. An old fort still exists there for tours and exploration. It is an hour and ten minutes North, but might be worth the drive.

You have to stop by between 12-2 for their great lunch specials. (salmon chowder was my favourite) I have never seen pie slices so big and all their desserts are amazing. It is also a microbrewery and their beer is on point.
