Cascada El Pavon is a beautiful waterfall just outside of Ojochal. From the highway turnoff, it is approximately 2kms to the falls. Like most secondary roads in CR it is bumpy but drivable. Parking is on the side of the road. There is no entrance fee. The hike down to the falls is short and easy. The area is shaded and cool, the water warm and the natural pool inviting. There is a restaurant and tilapia fish farm across the road.

Amazing seculded "secret" beach. Playa Arco is accessible only during low tide so you must plan your trip according to the tide chart. Try to arrive when the tide is on it's way out (1-2 hours before full low tide). Leave the beach before the tide gets too high (no more than a couple of hours after low tide).

"Corcovado National Park (Spanish: Parque Nacional Corcovado) is a National Park on the Osa Peninsula in Osa Canton, southwestern Costa Rica (9° North, 83° West), which is part of the Osa Conservation Area. It was established on 24 October 1975, and encompasses an area of 424 square kilometres (164 sq mi). It is the largest park in Costa Rica and protects about a third of the Osa Peninsula. It is widely considered the crown jewel in the extensive system of national parks and biological reserves spread across the country. The ecological variety is quite stunning. National Geographic has called it "the most biologically intense place on Earth in terms of biodiversity". Not only is the park very popular with tropical ecologists, a visitor can expect to see an abundance of wildlife."

the Diamante Verde (Green Diamond) are a set of ten waterfalls hidden deep in the jungle. If you’re visiting Manuel Antonio or the Costa Ballena and are looking for something more off-the-beaten path, consider making the trek to Diamante Waterfall. Little information is available on how to visit the Diamante Waterfall so we met with the local family that owns the property and had them show us what makes this area of Costa Rica so special.  The Diamante Waterfall is located in the village of Las Tumbas near Tinamaste. Although this area is just 35 minutes from the beach town of Dominical, the landscape differs widely, with lush, rolling mountains that are sometimes enshrouded in clouds. Behind two twin, 85-foot (26 meter) waterfalls were a few gigantic boulders which formed the base of the cave. Complete with a kitchen, elevated platforms for sleeping, and even bathrooms, this wasn’t any ordinary cave. As we ate lunch, we pictured how serene it must be at night, with candles lit and only the sound of water rushing. their is a family that owns the land and you'll need to book the tour through them.

This 1500 acre gem is located in the heart of the Quepos Biological Corridor, otherwise known as the Fila Chonta Mountain Range, and is host to one of the most diverse biological ecosystems on the planet. Strategically located, Rainmaker is just 20 minutes to all of the resorts of Manuel Antonio and Quepos, yet it is a world of its own. It offers visionaries a unique opportunity to experience a magical preserve that is both isolated and protected from the outside world, yet amazingly accessible. Rainmaker has a working infrastructure to allow for research and development of an ecological community as an example for the world to emulate. There is a fully developed canopy walk and bridge system exploring the most accessible portions of the property. There are also caretaker’s homes, a rancho/restaurant and all the necessary accommodations to allow for easy access, enjoyment and research. All of these, coupled with some additional hiking trails, more canopy bridge tours, canyoning tours, extreme jungle hiking and camping, luxury glamping, could make this an eco-tourism Mecca, offering guests to the central pacific coast a one stop for a host of activities in one amazing location.

Not far from Ojochal is one of those secluded beaches, Playa Ventanas. The name comes from the caves on the beach that look like little windows (ventanas means windows in Spanish). This beach is popular with locals making it an excellent spot to mingle with the Ticos and experience a typical South Pacific beach.
