New cafe opened 2022. I have still to try here myself but have heard great things. Handy to stop there on the way to or from sightseeing for the day.

Well worth a trip if you are in Portree. Great breakfasts, great coffee and decent prices. It is located in the local DIY shop on the outskirts on Portree and is easy to get parked which is a plus!

This is a must on a lot of peoples holiday itinery. Although they are beautiful, they can be very busy! There are equally beautiful spots all around if you know where to look. Travel on past the Fairy Pools car park down to Glenbrittle beach and you are right below the magnificent Cuillin Hills.

Lovely place with a lot of items handspun by the owners themselves from their own sheeps wool. Worth a stop and only 5 minute drive from The Oystercatcher.

My great grandparents were the lighthouse keepers for this lighthouse. The family looked after the lighthouse until the 2000's when it was knocked down and replaced with an automated metal structure. A nice walk which you can start from the Pod with the most beautiful views. Look out for the Iron Age fort half way to the lighthouse. If your lucky you may see a passing pod of porpoises or a sea eagle passing over head.

A dramatic beach which is well worth the visit. Most people will drive down to Talisker and park up and walk the rest of the way. Parking can be difficult. But, you can also walk over the hill from Fiscavaig, a lovely walk and a different way to see Talisker Bay. Just ask me if you want directions.

Sligachan is at the base of the Cuillin Hills and many walks/climbs begin from here. There is the Sligachan Hotel to have a well earned meal and drink in after your walk. There is also a children's play park there.

It can get very busy here - visit early or late in the day to find a parking spot and get a quieter walk up to the iconic Old Man

See if you can find the dinosaur footprints on the beach! Lovely part of the island not far from the Quirrang. So many fossils have been found in this part of the island. There is also a dinosaur museum nearby. Well worth a visit when up the North end of the island.
