Great new place for lunch in our neighborhood! This lovely bright cafe is the place for delicious coffees, breakfast, cakes, lunches, and shakes. Good and friendly service and nice inside and outside places to sit. I love their cookies!

This buzzing bar is in our 'neighbor' neighborhood 'De Baarsjes' (hanse the name 'Bar Baarsch'). The area used to be the upcoming neighborhood (like 'Bos & Lommer') but is well established now a days. Which means lot's of bars, nice shops and restaurants. One of them is Bar Baarsch. A great place to grab a bite or have a laugh and some drinks in good company.

This buzzing area at the north side of Amsterdam is worth the 10 minute ferry trip! You can catch a free ferry at the Central Station and cross the river 'IJ' to get to the NDSM area. A lot of creative industry is located there as well as all kinds of bars where you can enjoy a drink and the view over the water. 'Noorderlicht' is one of the great bars to go (also at night). 'Pllek' is also great (mostly during the day). This is also the area where a lot of festivals are hosted during the summer months.

The 'old part' is nice and romantic with shades from some trees and a lovely little lake. The 'new part' contains a big open field where friends and families go to enjoy a summer picknick or bbq.
This area is home to all kinds of (coffee)bars, clubs and restaurants. Have a perfect ice cream from 'IJscuypje' or a drink at 'Pacific Bar'. Or enjoy a great lunch with fresh hot scone and homemade jelly at 'De Bakkerswinkel'.
There is something festive going on almost every weekend at the Westerpark. Food festivals, music festivals, Sunday Market Shopping etc etc.
There's also the less known part where private the city gardens are located and the neighborhood farm/restaurant 'Ons Genoegen'

The club is located in an old school building (hence the name 'The School') and is home to the most trilling club nights. This is your place if your into some deep house or techno.
Don't forget to check out their great restaurant located on the other side of the building (reservation recommended!). Or enjoy a drink at their café. And if you're really feeling like 'pumping it up': check out their gym.

Since it's also a working place for urban creatives there's always something fun going on. Worth the trip!

It's called 'Volkshotel' since it used to be the place where one of the big Dutch newspapers was printed ('Volkskrant').
I'm also one of the permanent residents since my creative business is situated in the building. So I go back and forth to the east of Amsterdam everyday and I can tell you it's worth the trip. Enjoy the amazing view and the good vibe of the club on the 7th floor or enjoy a special cocktail on the red velvet couches in the basement. There's even a sauna and hot tubs at the roof but unfortunately for guests only (unless you make some friends..)

The movie theatre is part of the bigger complex called 'The Hallen'. They are a collective of all kinds of shops with locally crafted goods for sell. From clothing and gift shops to a big food market where you can hang out and enjoy all kinds of fresh food. Perfect for an hour or a whole rainy afternoon.
