You can take the 28 Muni which is 1 block away from the house to get to Golden Gate Park. There is a Japanese Tea Garden, Lots of museums(Academy of Science is my favorite), Conservatory and more!

I go here at least once a week to walk my dogs. It's a very nice trail, might be a bit too steep for the elderly though. There is a horse stable there where people can take horse riding lessons.
