Head to the Humber Bay Bridge, my favorite location in Toronto for incredible views of the the lake. Watch the Humber River, coming from Northern Canada, empty into Lake Ontario. This is a great spot for beautiful sunrises and sunsets.
There is parking available along Lakeshore Blvd. Go for a walk on thetrails along the lake going all the way to Exhibition Grounds and Humber Bay Park.

This is also the location to take the ferry to the Toronto Islands for beaches and the Centreville children's amusement park. Various boat cruises offer scenic tours of Toronto and Toronto Islands.
