I wouldn't miss this. MOHAI as known in Seattle reopened in late 2012, with new galleries and multimedia displays, in a new location in Lake Union Park at the north edge of downtown. While there, boat-lovers shouldn’t miss the nearby Center for Wooden Boats, with displays, more than 100 historic boats, a wharf, rental boats and free vintage-boat rides on Sundays (first-come, first served). No admission charge. Take light rail to Westlake Station - get off and go up to the street where you walk to 5th and Olive to find the South Lake Union Street Car - get on that and ride about 5-10 minutes and hop off right outside the Museum which is in an old Navy Building. Great restaurants near by.

In Georgetown - Wonderful Mexican food! Tacos, platos, pozole, and mole-drenched enchiladas display both a considerable level of care and refreshingly reasonable prices. Meanwhile, a courtyard out back rises to any margaritas-and-guac happy hour occasion. El Sirenito, the sibling marisqueria down the street, probably belongs on this list too.

Beacon Hill - One of the city’s most indispensable Italian restaurants, crusts blistered from the wood-fire oven, toppings simple and seasonal. But after pizza comes street food like fried risotto balls, grilled octopus, Italian regional antipasti, and seasonal salads.
