Mark Hix, chef extraordinaire has taken over this quaint country pub in Causcombe, outdoor seating in summer by a bubbling brook. Just lovely with the occasional horse trotting by. Oh and of course the food is excellent.

My personal favourite any time of year. The gardens date back to 1750 and are beautifully kept.There is also a plantation style villa/ cafe , food is made on site, cream teas and cakes too. You can visit the cafe without entering the gardens. Just a short walk further is Chesil beach, an amazing natural phenomenon.

Lovely spot to spend the day. There is also a sauna in a gypsy caravan that you can hire for an hour and a pop up pizza concession in the summer months, dog friendly.
