The best Thai food in all of Los Angeles, and it's two blocks away. Even in LA, we wouldn't drive!

The name has recently changed to Maxine's (new ownership) but this little hole-in-the-wall has character and charm galore, along with friendly and efficient wait staff. Amazing breakfast and lunch!

Located in downtown Culver City, this is one my favorites. Moderately priced with great ambiance. The cocktails are excellent, but not very strong.

Super-economical with good breakfast and lunch. I'm not sure if they're open for dinner, but it wouldn't be my first choice for dinner.

Charming French restaurant that was started (and then sold) by a friend of mine who is very French. Breakfast and lunch (no dinner) are amazing and pretty darn authentic. I recommend the pain perdue, but just about everything is really good.

How many opportunities do you get to eat Himalayan food? This place is great -- you can even get yak if you so desire. The service isn't super friendly, but it is efficient and the food is glorious. It's a lot like Indian food, but there are dishes that are not found in Indian restaurants. Highly recommend.

Excellent Indian food. It can get pretty spicy (or not) so be careful ordering it really spicy. By default, it is not spicy, so those who dislike hot food need not worry.

Good, reasonably-priced Mediterranean food. The outside is full of hookah-smoking people, so sit inside if you want to stay away. The decor inside is, uh, kind of funny. Haha funny.

One of my all-time favorites, though a little far from here (about 20-30 minutes). Meaning roughly "to your health," this is a great place to eat if you eat healthily, are vegetarian, or just want a well-cooked meal. They do have meat, but they also offer a wide array of veggie dishes. The vegan deserts are surprisingly good!

Located near the airport in Westchester. A good place to stop on your way to or from the airport (or any time, really) for lunch or dinner. I believe breakfast/brunch is only on weekends. If you're feeling really decadent, try the monkey bread. It's not made from monkeys. ; )

Jackson Market is a local Culver City deli nestled in one of the many cute residential neighborhoods in town. I'm not generally a deli person, but JM is really good and offers a very large selection of hot and cold sandwiches and more. Breakfast/Brunch on weekends is really good. It's patio seating.

Excellent Mexican food! There's a larger location in Westchester with an expanded menu, homemade tortillas, and homemade chips. The margarita's are a little "meh" if you're a margarita snob.

Easily walkable from the guesthouse, so very convenient. Beyond that and more importantly, the food is excellent. I go for breakfast a lot, I’ve also been there for lunch, and I’ve had dinner delivered a few times. I’ve never been disappointed. Vegetarian options are available as well.

Not a fancy evening out, though moderately priced. Don’t go for the ambiance, go for the food. The bread and garlic-infused oil - as much as you want - is sinfully delicious. Just be careful not to fill up on bread, as you won’t want to miss your meal. I hope you like garlic and don’t have an important meeting or date the next day!

One of my few regrets that I don’t eat red meat is that I have never had a Tito’s taco. It’s absolutely famous in LA for it’s tacos, so if you’re a fan, give it a try. Better to go on an off time so as to cut down on wait time as there’s always a line.

Excellent Cuban food. The black beans and rice are too good to be healthy, but it’s worth it! Very garlicky, so be careful about who you speak to for the next 24 hours or so.

Ignore the location (it’s attached to a Holiday Inn Express (i think)), the food and ambiance are great. Really good for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
