The official entry to the regional park is a couple of minutes drive from our chalet.
But the secret is that within a couple minutes walk from our chalet, right behind the La Mapache restaurant located in the decommissioned village train station, there is an entry into the park. The relatively easy hike, about 15-20 minutes, leads to two lookout points where you can admire the surroundings, fall colours, and lakes.

This is a multiuse recreational decommissioned rail trail located in the Riviere du Nord valley and is over 200 km long, connecting north of Montreal and Mt. Laurier.
In our village section it is asphalted, and in the winter is maintained for cross-country ski, fat-bike riding, while in the rest is an amazing bike trail and roller skating.

This is a multiuse recreational decommissioned rail trail located in the Riviere du Nord valley and is over 200 km long, connecting north of Montreal and Mt. Laurier.

The non-navigable lake is on the other side of the road from the chalet, connected with the smaller lake our chalet is located on. You can fish, and it is excellent for swimming and doing non-motorized water sports. It has a public beach with lifeguard on duty in the summer, a large parking lot with an area to wash clean your watersports equipment. You can float on it or north and south on the Riviere du Nord. A very relaxing ride is to set on the water on the Riviere du Nord either in Val-David or in Val-Morin at the public dock and allow the water to take your on a 1-2 hour scenic float down the river all the way to Lac Raymond.
