Food scene

The gorgeous, one-of-a-kind restaurant is built in the old firehall in Cranbrook’s downtown core. It has been converted by local owners into one of the most desired restaurants and tap houses in the area. It is charming and offers a quality menu and we have always had great service from the staff.

Hot Shots is very close to the house and would take less than 5 minutes to walk to. They make great hot drinks but the Pad Thai is really where it’s at. If wraps are more your style they make amazing grilled wraps and my personal favourite is the grilled chicken bacon wrap with hickory ranch sauce. Mm mmm! They have free wifi and indoor/outdoor seating. They even have a few board games on hand. If you prefer to eat in the comfort of your home away from home then order for pickup and use their convenient drive-thru.

Activities

ARQ Mountain Centre has many fun physical activities to participate in. They have a huge indoor climbing wall and a large bouldering area. They have all sorts of fitness equipment throughout like free weights, treadmills, rowers, etc. They have an entire section just for kids from toddlers and up! The staff are awesome and it’s locally owned and operated by some of our friends. They have a coffee bar and refreshments with tables to sit at to enjoy watching the activities. They run classes, host many events and have fitness/yoga classes in the studio. They rent out gear for people who don’t have any of their own and they also sell apparel.

The Cranbrook Disc Golf Course is just a few minutes walk up the street. They have 18 holes that are free to play and it’s great for the kids too! If you’re just starting out then I recommend sticking to the “front nine” as these holes tend to be a little easier to complete and they are all Par 3. If you want to try the course but didn’t bring your own discs no problem! We have plenty on hand for you to borrow, just let us know in advance and we will get them sanitized for you. Hole 5 is where I “aced” my first hole-in-one and is pictured here :)
