It's open Mondays-Fridays from 7 am to 4 pm and from 10 am to 1 pm on Saturdays. The farm is closed on Sundays but the adjacent Heritage Park is open.

The next day, it might be shrouded in clouds or the wind will howl and the cable car will be closed. If you're hiking fit, walk up Platteklip Gorge or Skeleton Gorge (Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens) and take the cable car down.

Visit the place where the great minds of the ANC were imprisoned and hear live testimony from former political inmates who guide the tours of the prison. The crossing is by speed boat and the views from the island are beautiful.
