You can explore the waters and wildlife of Sechelt Inlet by kayak year-round! Watch for otters, martens, adorable moon jellyfish, sea stars, seals, Great Blue Herons, and Bald Eagles as you glide over the calm, protected waters. Spectacular! Our favourite thing about renting from Pedals and Paddles near Tuwanek is that you launch into calm, quiet waters away from the townsite. (And we've found them friendly and helpful!) Pedals and Paddles offers rentals by the hour, or can equip you for an overnight adventure at one of the marine parks along the inlet.

In our opinion, a Sunshine Coast classic. Walking, scuba diving, or kayaking, however you explore Smuggler Cove Marine Park, this place is magical! The wide walking trail gently meanders 4 km through the rain forest, with boardwalks over marshland, and amazing tidal coastlines.

Smuggler Cove Marine Provincial Park
In our opinion, a Sunshine Coast classic. Walking, scuba diving, or kayaking, however you explore Smuggler Cove Marine Park, this place is magical! The wide walking trail gently meanders 4 km through the rain forest, with boardwalks over marshland, and amazing tidal coastlines.
Sargeant Bay beach is one of our favourite ocean swimming spots on the Sunshine Coast. It's also a brilliant place for birdwatching, with a short, wheelchair-accessible trail between the pebble beach and a beautiful wetland. There's an active beaver dam, and a fish ladder to help salmon during spawning season.

Redrooffs RoadSargeant Bay beach is one of our favourite ocean swimming spots on the Sunshine Coast.
