Stroll below the famous White Cliffs of Dover at Samphire Hoe, a 30-hectare nature reserve and exceptional site for biodiversity, created from chalk marl excavated from the construction of the Channel Tunnel. The rare chalk grassland habitat to which Samphire Hoe has become home is a haven for wildlife, with up to 40 species of flowering plants to be found in one square metre. Look up and you might see kestrels hawking above; look down and scarce beautiful wildflowers can be seen along the paths. Look out across the sea to distant views of France, from the peace and tranquillity of a unique country park setting. Visit the education shelter with its woodburning stoves and displays. Hot and cold drinks and snacks are available from a refreshments kiosk.

'The 49th Open' in 1909, won by J.H. Taylor. 'The 55th Open' in 1920, won by George Duncan. Deal is also a final qualifying course for 'The Open' whilst recently the RCPGC jointly hosted the English Amateur and British Seniors Championships in 2007 and 2008 respectively. Disabled car parking facilities are available in the members' car park. The Club also has a lift and washroom facilities for the disabled.
