The Dutch pretty much speak perfect English. However, they value politeness so an Please and a Thank you go a very long way. Many also speak German, French, Italian or Spanish. Although this is less common.

The Netherlands is child friendly. All public transport have space for disabled and child buggies.

For experiencing the local area, hire a bicycle, with or without full electric power or just pedal assist. There are many places to see and explore you would never know about by using cars or busses etc.
