Craft beers, pizzas and hot sandwiches in our historic downtown, friendly staff; if you know our town's history re the closing of medicinal water spas, you'll understand the name and the declaration to drink the beer, not the water!

What a great, nostalgic, hole in the wall fifties diner feel! A big breakfast favorite with the locals if you can get in, not a ton of booths.

Great barbecue in the old depot building that originally serviced the railroad line to Kansas City, voted as having the best ribs in the area, and a large selection of sides (including fried pickles and fried mushrooms, gimme). (Note, they have a children's menu as well.)

Over 130 years old, the Elms Hotel features a beautiful old historic lobby, lovely grounds in back, and a stellar spa. Not only have historic celebrities such as Harry Truman and All Capone (and the Maholmes as well!) stayed there, there are reputedly some ghosts in residence as well!

Once the most completely outfitted health spas in the region thanks to the town' s mineral springs, go in and see the art deco architecture, and the beautiful Hall with windows overlooking the grounds of the Fishing River. A water bar runs down the middle of the Hall, though it is not currently in operation.
