Henry’s is a wonderful staple restaurant in Kodiak! Mostly American style cuisine, but they have tons of delicious seafood options! Great for lunch or dinner. They also have a lot of different great beer on tap!

Having grown up in Kodiak, Kings was always a staple in my family. Best place in town for breakfast in my opinion. Classic diner food, with an alaskan twist to it. Definitely recommend the reindeer sausage. On the spendy side, but worth it to try at-least once! A bonus, you can often see planes taking off from the lake or run way right next door!
King's Diner

The best part, you can sit at the windows and watch float planes take off and land on the lake!

The atmosphere is adorable, but we’ll warn you, it is a tiny space that gets filled up quick! If you are nearby, it’s a must stop!

Java Flats

Nature
Abercrombie is one of the best places to visit while in Kodiak! It is a beautiful big park, with multiple trails! We’ll marked trails, and easy to get around! There is even a military museum in one of the many WW2 bunkers in the park. The museum is $5 to get in. The park also has a $5 per vehicle parking fee.
The park is about a 20 minute walk from the cottage.
Fort Abercrombie State Historical Park
Laundry
There is a laundry mat in town, about a 30 minute walk from the cottage. It is in the same building as Spenards Builders Supply. When you get to the parking lot you’ll see the sign on the far left hand side of the building.

Getting Around
Kodiak does not have any Uber or Lyft. The main way to get around for long distance is taxi or rental car. We highly recommend getting a rental car. You can explore so much more of the island, and it is far cheaper in the long run! For a reference it is about $30 from the airport to the cottage (one way). The only place to rent cars is from the rental car service out at the airport. We currently are down to just Avis. Getting around
