In Gamlingen you find a nice gym and one heated shallow outdoor swimming pool and one bigger for swimming training. They also have a sauna. Its all newly renovated. You pay and get a bracelet to get access for all this and a cabinet you can lock.
They also have a kiosk with candy, soft drinks and swimming equipment.

Flor & Fjære is a colorful and flowering park with palm trees and exotic plants. The unique park is located on the island Sør-Hidle in Ryfylke.
A visit to Flor & Fjære begins with a beautiful fjord trip. The boat leaves from Strandkaien in Stavanger, and after about 30 minutes you can land in the sea of flowers on the small island in the Ryfylke basin.
Here you will be welcomed by their guides, who are ready to show you the beauty of the gardens and share secrets and stories. A tour of the abundant park provides insight into 3 generations' passion for creating the world's most beautiful gardens.
After a guided tour, dinner is served with a sea view. The chef presents the delicious and fresh menu with inspiration from around the world, but with a focus on local ingredients. After the meal you have about an hour to explore the gardens on your own before the boat returns to Stavanger.
The season lasts from 14 May to 21 September, and is open Monday to Saturday. It is closed on Sunday. All visits must be arranged in advance or follow our regular departures.
The boat departs from Skagenkaien in Stavanger.

There are good sideway connections to the bathing area. Be early to get parking on hot days. Then it is popular to get a dip in the ocean.
The bathing area contains six smaller sandy beaches, play areas for children, sand volleyball court, ball loops, diving board, ramp out into the sea for the disabled and toilets. Sale from kiosk on bathing days.
The area is also used for large and small events, but is primarily an area for swimming and outdoor life.
