Once for the surfers amongst us, it is flanked by sanddunes and sits at the mouth of the river avon. Best reached earlier in the day as the single-track lane gets very busy, has a lovely little gastro bus and the Sloop Inn in the village is lovely too. However, it’s worth noting that there is a strong rip current, so be sure to swim between the flags.

Bantham Beach
Once for the surfers amongst us, it is flanked by sanddunes and sits at the mouth of the river avon. Best reached earlier in the day as the single-track lane gets very busy, has a lovely little gastro bus and the Sloop Inn in the village is lovely too. However, it’s worth noting that there is a strong rip current, so be sure to swim between the flags.
One of our favourites thanks to the crystal clear waters and the sun lasting long into the evening. Safe waters for swimming. We recommend parking at the Thurlstone end of the beach as the car park doesn’t fill up as quickly, but it’s certainly worth getting there early.
