Situated in Great Brak River’s atmospheric old railway station, right on the lagoon front and overlooking the estuary, Transkaroo dishes up plates full of passionately created South African cuisine – each one with a special touch. A wide range of dishes are listed on blackboards and the wine list, too, is varied and extensive.
In April 2014 Johan and Jeanette Moolman bought this well-established restaurant together with their son-in-law Maurice Fouché (Head Chef) and daughter Nicolette, and today this family run business is one of only five Garden Route restaurants included in the prestigious 2016 American Express Fine Dining Awards list.

GUIDED BUSH TRAILS
Experience and enjoy the Garden Route’s abundant fauna and flora on foot. Follow a Botlierskop field ranger as he tracks for 2 ½ hours through diverse habitats such as coastal renosterveldt and Cape fynbos. You’ll have the chance to see wild animals while exploring the wonders of insects, ecology, birds (Knysna Touraco, African Fish-eagle, Jackal Buzzard and more) and the medicinal values of the plants.
