Ingleton waterfalls is a beautiful walk not to be missed.
THE TRAIL
The trail follows a well-defined footpath which runs as close to the edge of the two rivers as possible to provide spectacular views of the waterfalls. The path includes a large number of steps which means that it is unsuitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs. We would advise wearing walking boots or strong shoes.
Pack a picnic to enjoy the views it’s certainly worth a visit.

Malham Cove
Malham Cove is a huge curving amphitheatre shaped cliff formation of limestone rock.
The vertical face of the cliff is about 260 feet high. The top of the cove is a large area of deeply eroded limestone pavement, of a strange pattern rarely seen in England. The majesty of Malham Cove looks out over the Village of Malham and has been attracting visitors for centuries.

Location: Malham Cove gr 897642 OS Map: 98, From the middle of Malham village walk up Cove Road (keep left walking up the village) for approximately 300 yards and the Cove will come into view.

Access: Open all year, a good footpath leads from the road to the foot of the Cove and steps lead up to the Limestone Pavement on the top of the cove (note NO parking is available at this location you must park in the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority Car Park and walk through the Village).
Size: approximately 80 metres high and 300 metres wide (a 260 foot high by 984 foot long curved crag).
Malham Cove also affords brilliant views down the dale towards Malham and beyond.

Nestling below Ingleborough on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park is the village of Clapham.
Visit the village and the surrounding area for stunning walks including the 3 Peaks, caving including Ingleborough Cave and Gaping Gill, cycling and sight seeing, the 650 year old St James’s Church, our Award Winning Community Shop, welcoming accommodation, cuisine to suit all preferences, outdoor activities and much more.
Visit Gaping
The extensive system of caves 100 metres under this moorland are only accessible to cavers except for a week in May (with Bradford Pothole Club) and a week in August (with Craven Pothole Club) when these caves are made accessible by a winch. During the CPC Winch meet other entrances will be rigged with rope and visiting cavers are invited to use these.
Opening Times
Weather permitting, the winch will operate for descents by members of the public from 9.00am each weekday (8.00am at weekends). If we have to close the winch for any reason, our Twitter and Facebook pages will give notice. A sign will also be displayed at Ingleborough Cave.
The winch has a fixed capacity of approx. twenty descents/ascents per hour, which can result in extended waiting times during busy periods. We are not able to take advance bookings.
Book as soon as you arrive at Gaping Gill by visiting the tent next to the winch. You will be issued with a numbered wrist band and advised of your approximate descent time.

You can walk from Clapham (LA2 8EQ) to the cave entrance in about 11/2 hr along a well marked but rough path. On the way up you will pass the entrance to Ingleborough Show Cave. This separate attraction (well worth visiting) has no connection with the Gaping Gill Winch Meet / Caving Club
