By far, the best club of The Netherlands. With a 24/7 license. Programming underground techno/ deep house.
It’s relatively far away, but you can bike there or take a taxi.
They are really uptight in their door policy. Especially against tourist. You can buy tickets beforehand but that doesn’t grant you entry (they do refund you when you’re not accepted).
Don’t stand out in the crowd while queuing. Don’t dress up, but dress down (simple black clothing). Know which dj is playing that night (check the online agenda).

My personal favourite is this distillery, where they make beautiful liquor (and also sell beer) in a stunning tranquil surrounding.
It has very limited opening times: 3-6 (15.00-18.00) every day.

In the back of the restaurant there’s a hidden door (look for a bell to push) and if you have an appointment, the door will open for you and reveal the cocktail lounge. You need to contact them beforehand via email and arrange a reservation at the ‘secret kitchen’ via HELLO@THE-BUTCHER.COM (specify that you want a reservation at Albert Cuypmarkt).

Just outside of the canal circle is a nice area to discover called De Pijp. There’s a day market there Albert Cuyp Market where you can sample traditional Dutch food as freshly made stroopwafels and raw haring and the area also has many nice cafes

If you want to escape the busy Amsterdam life, take an afternoon biking trip to Durgerdam. The ferry behind Central Station will take you to Amsterdam North (take the one to IJ-plein). The route there will take you through old Dutch wooden fishing villages and Durgerdam has beautiful views over the IJselmeer. There's an okay cafe there, which is especially nice in summer, as it has a terrace on the water. You could also go for a swim there.

If you want to extend you biking 'escape from the city' afternoon trip a bit further then Durgerdam, make a circle going back though Broek in Waterland, which is a monumental beautiful quaint small village on the water with wooden houses in the most amazing colors.
