This is the Closest Beach to Casa Fryar, AKA: (Playa Isla Verde) is only a 5 minute car ride. It would be a beautiful walk to the beach if the airport wasn't blocking our path. The Beach entrance is located on Calle Jose M. Tartak. The street has limited free parking, but also has a low cost multi level parking deck behind CVS Pharmacy (See Photo) . Lined with beachfront hotels & Condominium highrises, this large sandy beach is a popular, scenic spot for swimming & watersports. ***It should be noted that this is a "public beach" which means its not managed by a municipality, so it has no hours of operation and, no bath facilities, so you'll have to buy a drink at one of the beachfront restaurants and hit the facilities there if needed.

Beautiful crystal clear, calm waters, bathrooms, showers, free parking, food vendors & tropical drinks, are all available. Its Located on the extreme west side of the island in the city of Cabo Rojo, and definitely is worth the day trip.
1hr. 50min. from Casa Fryar you can explore Guajataca Tunnel . It is a railroad tunnel that connected the town of Isabela and Quebradillas, Puerto Rico. The tunnel is one of the most significant work of the remnants of the national railway system that connected the island during the first half of the twentieth century. In 2000 the Government of Puerto Rico declared it a historical monument. The tunnel leads to "Guajataca beach" known for its white sand, and raging surf. Not a place to swim , but great spot for a chill picnic.
