Houghton Lake is as Pure Michigan as it gets. Its far enough up north to get that up north lake town feel, small enough where you get the small town northern Michigan feel, and big enough to have pretty much anything you need. From big box stores and restaurants to small town diners and hole in the wall bars. It has entertainment and events for all ages and famous for Tip Up Town USA in the winter and Bud Bash on the lake in the water during the summer.
