Eika cottage is situated in a typical Norwegian farming landscape with small and big farm scattered around. From the cottage, the valley Sigdal stretches north-west all the way up to the skiing resort of Norefjell. In Sigdal you can enjoy rafting, mountain climbing, hiking in the woods and of course skiing. Trillemarka, which is Norway's largest wood reservation is on the doorstep. Here you can enjoy hikes in the woods and mountains, fishing and harvesting berries and mushrooms. If you like downhill skiing you can reach the 1952 Olympic ski hill in 50 minutes. A Zip Line park opened only 4 km from the house last fall. Blaafarveværket is a museum and mine where the used to extract Cobolt. The famous Vikersund ski jump, which still holds s the world record in ski jumping, is only 30 minutes away.

This railway is now a museum and you can book tickets on an old train set pulled by a steam engine. The old station is converted into a museum and is a must if you travel with children
