Chrystal Pools Hiking Trail starts on R44, just after you have crossed the bridge over the mouth of the Steenbras River. You need to book your permits ahead of time and these will be checked on arrival. To book email steenbras.naturereserve@capetown.gov.za they are open Monday to Friday

Blue Rock’s Cable Waterski a ski-lift on the water with 5 towers and an over-head pulling system which generally runs at 30 km per hour. It can take up to 10 kneeboarders / waterskiers / wakeboarders at the same time. Besides cable skiing (waterskiing, kneeboarding, wakeboarding), Blue Rock offers various other outdoor activities such as a fenced-in paintball field which is perfect for spectators to watch (up to 40 players), 400 metre long fufi-slide (also known as a zip line), beach volleyball, stand-up paddle boards, a two-man canoe, a 6-7 metre high rock jumping point, various swimming & diving areas (for scuba & commercial divers). If you are looking for fun, sun and adrenaline; then Blue Rock is the ideal place for outings with family & friends, birthday & bachelor parties, school & student outings as well as year-end functions!

The day starts with a map briefing and riding practice before a qualified guide leads you along exclusive trails on private and state land. The route will take you past forest, fynbos, lakes and interesting historical sites. The varied riding route also includes an overview of organic farming in the Elgin Valley. The highlight of the day is stopping for a delicious lunch at a waterfall before returning to base.
