Florence is a must-see city and it is only 25km away from the Hayloft. You will have the chance to see lots of breathtaking views and charming buildings. You can taste typical Tuscan food, enjoy museums, gardens, Arno river and the beauty of the Renaissence.

Florence is a must-see city and it is only 25km away from the Hayloft. You will have the chance to see lots of breathtaking views and charming buildings. You can taste typical Tuscan food, enjoy museums, gardens, Arno river and the beauty of the Renaissence.
Siena is one of the most beautiful Tuscan cities. You will be transported in the Middle Age from the moment you will enter the city walls and doors still intact from centuries. The main square Piazza del Campo, is famous for the Palio game (similar to a horse race) that continues to entertain the city every 2nd of July and 16th of August from 1300 AC.

Siena
Siena is one of the most beautiful Tuscan cities. You will be transported in the Middle Age from the moment you will enter the city walls and doors still intact from centuries. The main square Piazza del Campo, is famous for the Palio game (similar to a horse race) that continues to entertain the city every 2nd of July and 16th of August from 1300 AC.
Very Beautiful and still authentic medieval/renaissance city.
The city walls are still surrounding the city and should you take a walk around them. There is a very famous oval square built over and ancient Roman amphitheater. I prefer it to Pisa as there is a lot to see and it is still a very vibrant city with lots of concerts and events throughout the year.

Very Beautiful and still authentic medieval/renaissance city.
The city walls are still surrounding the city and should you take a walk around them. There is a very famous oval square built over and ancient Roman amphitheater. I prefer it to Pisa as there is a lot to see and it is still a very vibrant city with lots of concerts and events throughout the year.
San Giminiano is well known for its towers (symbols of power), that once were more than 100 and the tallest they were, the richest were the families. The view of the countryside from the city is breathtaking and you will have the chance to taste a worderful wine !

Pisa is well known for its tower but also for its amazing view on the river and the cheap nightlife. The city, in fact, presents a lot of Universities therefore it is plenty of nice places where to eat, drink and take an aperitivo.
However if you are an art/architecture lover I would recommend seeing Siena or Lucca first as the major attraction is only the Pisa Tower area.

If you have enough time to stay in Tuscany, we would advice you to take 2 or 3 extra days to visit Elba Island. This is the biggest iTuscan island and it is just wonderful. If you start your journey from the hayloft, It would take you around 2 hours and a half to reach Piombino on the coast and only 1 hour/40minutes with the boat from Piombino to Portoferraio (the capital), but it is all worth it!!

This is a borgo that can be seen and reached from the hayloft
Certaldo it is 15m by car from the hayloft and it is recommended because it still boasts the old city, Certaldo Alto (the medieval city), which is reacheable by walk from Certaldo.
We would recommend to visit it, mostly during its important festival in July , "Mercantia", when the city hosts lots of wonderful artists, shows and artisans that perform in every corner. Certaldo has also the closest train station to go to Florence/Siena if you do not want to go by car.
