Our house is situated in the Centre of historic little town Weesp. Walk through the old town with its tiny Streets and houses. This is how many towns in The Netherlands did look like, some centuries ago!
Drink a beer at the local brewery (Wispe) or a ice cream at Nelis. Go shopping in the small shops or eat in one of the many restaurants.
Great advantage of Weesp is that it's much more friendly and cheaper than Amsterdam.

Before we moved to Weesp, we lived in Amsterdam Old West. This neighbourhood has a great atmosphere, where you can still find the original vibe of Amsterdam. Tips to visit: the Vondelpark (the biggest city park in Amsterdam), Jan Pieter Heijestraat, Ten Kate Markt, Foodhallen.
If you take the train to Amsterdam Central, you can also get off at Muiderpoort (only 9 min from Weesp). From there it's a short walk to either the 'Indische Buurt' with it's many Tokos and bars. Or walk to 'Oost', with Oosterpark, Linnaeusstraat and the Tropenmuseum. Also mill the Gooyer is close by, with brewery 'Het IJ'. Nice terrace to drink a beer!

Utrecht is the fourth biggest city in the Netherlands and a typical student city. Great for shopping! The old Dom Tower (112 m) and low canals with warfs below street level are great to visit.

Walk in 20 minutes from Naarden-Bussum Station to Naarden Vesting. This is a beautiful example of an old walled city.
