Sightseeing

Cockington village is a short walk from our home. You will find a lovely country park, Cockington Court with its lovely café, and to the rear of the Court is the artists area where you can see glass blowing taking place. There is also the Cockington Chocolate Company which is well worth a stop! The Drum Inn at the bottom of the Country Park is a lovely spot for a drink and something to eat.

Brixham is a lovely little fishing village. There is a lively seafront area, plus a nice walk around the marina to the breakwater. There are some lovely cafe's and restaurants also. You can take a ferry from Torquay in high season, there is a bus or simply drive along the seafront.

This is worth a visit if you like looking round ancient cave systems. Take a guided tour and then stop in the cafe on your way out. This is a bus ride or car ride from our house.

In our opinion a lovely part of Torquay. Dramatic rocky bay with easy parking and walking. There is the Meadfoot Beach cafe with lovely views across the sea, and for the energetic a walk up to Ilsham gives you a choice of cafes, bars and eating places.

Food scene

This is a short walk from our home. A great place for breakfast, or coffee and cake. They also do great sandwiches. Del and Marie are very welcoming. Excellent food.

Right on the seafront with an amazing balcony seating area (in good weather). This is part of a chain but does excellent food. There is a fixed price menu for lunch, a great a la carte and they also do gourmet evenings every month. Booking essential.
