Drinks & Nightlife

This is the local pub for local people! It's a bit of a secret! It's great for weekend family lunches, sports on big screens but the rest of the time they spin the vinyl with cool tunes and create a fab atmosphere with lots of friendly, interesting locals. Live music on Saturdays is a must!

Upstairs is a fabulous little venue to catch live music - see their listings. I have enjoyed many a night discovering new bands and enjoying favourites with friends. Just along under the arches of the Railway Station is The Green Door Store - also a great venue and they have great free club nights for dancing from 11pm to late. Another couple of secret gems!

Great venue upstairs with live music at weekends and lively bar downstairs with lots of snug little rooms. Under the arches of the station there's another place called The Green Rooms - live music until 11 then free clubs with dancing until late. Two proper Brighton gems!

Parks & Nature

This is a hidden gem in the South Downs -you can get an open top bus to Devil's Dyke then hike down to the Shepherd and Dog in the valley below. The views are stunning.

Arts & Culture

This is a must-see in Brighton. The interiors are very kitsch and reflect the Prince Regent's flamboyant taste - rather like Brighton itself! Opposite is the Museum and Art Gallery with many interesting exhibitions and an interactive Fashion Gallery on the top floor. Fun!

These are a gem -these Laines house the coolest independent and boutique shops in Brighton. Highly recommended for a mooch about -far better than the touristy Lanes by the beach front...

Essentials

It's an easy walk across the Level and London Road - easiest driving access is via the south of the Level. It has a free underground car or you can order a taxi to take you and your shopping home. There are other supermarkets on London road, such as Aldi and Co-Op and a corner shop 1 minutes walk from the house for bread, milk etc with an Wine and Beer shop opposite!

Getting Around

Just started in Brighton, these bikes can be hired online and operate with GPS etc. You will see the bike racks all over Brighton. The next road down from us, Ewart Street, is your nearest. We also have buses that stop at the top of the hill (ask for the "Pepper Pot") -they are number 18 and number 21 - both come from the centre of town, Western Road.

London is only 50 minutes away! Lots of Brightonians commute to London and a day out is easy. The station is a 15 minute walk from the house.
