The appartment is near two bus stations (on eleutheriou venizelou street and on gimnasiarchou david street). However you can take a taxi from Taxi Stand on playground. Also you can walk, because there are short distances in town.

In island there is dampness. So you will need a jacket at night, even in summer period.

Lesvos is very famous for its orthodox pilgrimages. Many people visit Taxiarches monastery in Mantamados, Saint Rafail monastery in Thermi, Agiasos village, Limonos monastery in Dafia and Ipsilou monastery.

Many people come in Lesvos in order to view the Petrified forest. I also suggest you visit the Natural History Museum of the Lesvos Petrified Forest in Sigri.

If you love birds you have to visit Alykes Observatory Lesvos Geopark near Kalloni and watch beatifull flamingos and other beautifull birds.

Lesvos is famous from its local drink ouzo. There are some museums that you can visit in order to learn the production process, like Ouzo Museum Barbayanni or the The World of Ouzo in Plomari.

Lesvos has many historical sites. We recomend you visit Castle of Mytilene, castle of Sigri and castle of Molyvos. There is an Archaeological Museum, Byzantine Museum and Ancient Theater in city. Near village Moria there is Roman Aqueduct. Furthermore there are some turkish sites from Turkish domination ages around the island and inside town.

Lesvos has a big cultural beauty. Visit Theofilo's museum (local painter), Teriade museum, Municipal Art Gallery (Halim Bey). If you come across a local festival (there are plenty of them) take the cahnce to dance with citizens and taste their hospitality.
