A little further afield, Hayfield is at the bottom of Kinder, so a great place to start out on some walks up on the Kinder plateau. The Packhorse does fantastic food that is a little different from your average pub fare, with seasonally focused menu. It's definitely worth the trip.

Thornbridge brewery pub with excellent food. Don't forget to stop at Monsall Head for an amazing view, and some lovely walks.
