Sightseeing

The Rio Grande Gorge is one of the most scenic areas in all of Taos. A walk across the bridge at Sunrise or Sunset will instantly inform you on why they call this place "The Land of Enchantment"

The high rock cliff walls lining Cimarron Canyon are incredible to see in real life. A short drive from Casa De Kiva, this is an excellent place to go for a hike or picnic by the river.

A trip to Taos isn't complete without visiting the Ski Valley. In the winter, these slopes will transport you to the swiss alps in both beauty and technical terrain. Don't be fooled though, there is something for everyone and plenty of beginner, intermediate, and expert terrain here, despite what it might look like standing at the base :) In the summer, hiking, mountain biking, and rock climbing abound! Sign up for their Via Ferrata and take the whole family! The Bavarian restaurant is my top recommendation for food in any season.

The Taos Pueblo is home to the oldest continuously inhabited community in North America. These dwellings, still lived in today, are over 1000 years old. Take a tour with a local guide to learn about their interesting past, and grab a cup of Pinon Coffee while your there, it's excellent!

Orlando's is bar none the best authentic New Mexican food you'll find in Taos. They're always busy for a reason, so come early. The avocado pie for desert will never dissapoint.
