Neighborhoods

The most multicultural and trendy neighbourhood of Malmö, lots of restaurants, bars and shops, vegetable market every day (except Sunday) until 3pm, best nightlife and alternative scene, LGBT-friendly. The cherry on the cake is Folkets Park, a beautiful park with eateries, cafés, mini-golf, mini-reptile-zoo, playground and open-air concerts and screenings in summer. You can find food from almost every corner of the world, arguably 180 languages are spoken in this neighbourhood. Great place to chill, got out and have fun. Also close to Triangeln.

The area around Triangeln train station connects the hip, alternative Möllevangen district with the city centre and has everything from a chic mid-sized shopping mall with necesities like an ICA supermarket, Systembolaget alcohol shop and a pharmacy to eateries and cafés, clothing and apparel shops, beauticians etc., to quaint local cafés, restaurants and shops in the Friisgatan (a beautiful small street that is closed to cars in summer and turned into a pedestrian zone with benches and fairy lights) to the Konsthall contemporary arts space with temporary exhibitions, bookshop, a modern café with terrace and an outdoor installation by artist Tony Cragg and fountains, frequented by skate boarders, leading to Malmö Opera and the huge green Pildamsparken Park.

Food scene

Socialise with the locals and enjoy good food, local beers and wine. At Far i Hatten, there is always something going on. Lots of evenings during the week there are live events, DJs and other cultural events. There is also table tennis and football games. The restaurant is in a lovely cozy cottage, built in 1894 with a large and green outdoor garden, turning into a bar/dance club at night / in the weekends. On Saturdays there is a very popular brunch and the café also serves coffee and pastries, a swedish “fika”. On Sundays is all day Pizza Day with good price for open wines. https://www.farihatten.se/english https://www.facebook.com/farihattenmalmo/

Nightlife

This is my most favourite place for a genuine nightlife experience in Malmö. A place with great cocktails, beer and other alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Fantastic venue for people with an interest in alternative scene and awesome music and concerts. The place is also LGBT friendly and have something to offer for everyone. They also have regular paid or free concerts followed by a DJ performance. In the weekends, they are open till 3 am, and so if you want to stay for a long night, that is the place to go. https://www.facebook.com/planbvenue/

Food and Nightlife in one. Elegant bar (mid century furnishings) and restaurant for after work drinks and fine dining or clubbing. Good wine selection, cocktails and excellent food, often Jazz concerts. In the weekends the place turns in to a club after 10pm with free entrance until 11pm. Good atmosphere and music. Also has a terrace. https://www.grandolomat.se/english https://www.facebook.com/GrandOloMat/?eid=ARDPaObQW3okgE0DNrFp49MLdKzj2emjOM5E04z-qc3GuStHRHH5aGnlog5zEaakVzyQe0ALz1hZwO6p

Housed in a former chocolate factory, Taproom has one of the largest and ever changing beer selections in Malmö, partly from its own brewery whose kettles you can see in the bar, a cosy atmosphere and great genuine food like pulled pork, sausages and burgers. The bar staff / beer sommeliers really know their beers! https://malmobrewing.com https://www.facebook.com/malmobrewing/
