Stavanger-guide

Norway, and especially Stavanger ;) is a beautiful Place! If you like hiking Prekestolen/the pulpit rock and Kjerag is a must! The best way to see them is off course with a good guiding Company - Outdoorlife Norway (outdoorlifenorway.com) have sunrise trips, where you get to see the rock all by yourself in an insanely gorgeous light . If you wanna organize the trip by yourself, you can find the Tou Ferry in Stavanger and the buss that will take you to Prekestolhytta, where the trip begins. Gofjords.com have roundtrip tickets til 360,- per/pers to Prekestolen and 640,- pr/pers to Kjerag. They are both strenuous trips (6 and 11,5 hours) with a lot of altitude meters, so you should be used to hiking a bit and good gear is essential - hiking boots, woolen underwear (yes even in summer), windproof jacket etc a decent packed lunch and water. If you prefer a more relaxed, but still super fun and exiting way to experience the Pultiprock - fjordevents.no have rib boat trips to Lysefjorden so you, amongst other sights, can see the rock from below. We also have some amazing sand beaches at Sola and Jæren, with excellent surfing conditions. Boretunet at Bore Beach is a super nice hostel, with a really chill, down to earth vibe and good surfing schools nearby. If you are in Stavanger maybe the coolest place in all in town is Stavanger Øst. This place can offer an array of different cafes, restaurants and bars (Tako, Fortou and Øst is definitely recommended!) - a concert venue and some of the coolest graffiti piece in the world - through the Nuart festival witch is the worlds longest running since 2001. Download they're online map (http://www.nuartfestival.no/home/nuart-map-2018) and make your own guided tour in the area :) Follow the walkway further and you'll be in the city center within 15-20 minutes. Here I recommend buying a local fishcake at Fisketorget, have a coffee at the Good Enough cafe right outside Hermetikk museum in Old Town, feed the birds at Breiavannet behind the cathedral or just walk around and look at all the funny People for a while. Food and restaurants in Stavanger: If you wanna have an excellent Food experience Egget is the place to go, as it is like no other restaurant I have ever been to! A relaxed, ruff and down to earth atmosphere with amazing peole and impecible food! Söl, Tango, Fish & Cow, Ostehuset, Mogul India, Casa Gio are also great alternatives, depending on what you are in the mood for =) When it comes to nightlife there are bars spread all around Vågen, but Fargegaten/the colored street is an absolute must - with Cirkus, Hanekam and Cafe Bacchus as some of the favorites. Kardinal Pub have Norways biggest selection of beers, and the bartenders at Lou Lou will serve you some fantastic drinks! For some dancing try Bar Social or some of the new Places on the other side of Vågen (although I haven’t been there myself).
