Set in the northern foothills of Dartmoor on the Trafalgar Way, this thatched 14th century village local, once a cider house, is the hub of the village community. The Kings Arms is a freehouse, allowing them to offer a good variety of real ales and ciders. Their regular ales are Dartmoor Brewery’s Dartmoor IPA and Legend; and their local cider is Devon Mist from Sandford Orchards. Guest Beers come from around Devom, Cornwall and Somerset and include beers from Teignworthy, Cotleigh, Hunters, Forge and Blacktor breweries to name but a few. Good food is served daily. The pub is a good meeting place, particularly during the Dartmoor Folk Festival in August.

Sightseeing
At Castle Drogo you can explore 'the last castle to be built in England' as the quest to save it from ruin continues.
The treasures in the house are still on display inside, but the rooms have been re-displayed and focus more on the family and original building work. There are interactive displays to find out more about the building work.

There's lots to do and see at Becky Falls Ancient Woodland Park, from boulder scrambling and exploring the river walks, to hunting for the stamps on the children's stamp trail (where every child wins a prize). Becky falls is a place for all ages. And for our animal lovers there are shows galore each weekend and during school holidays, as well as animal feeding sessions.

South Zeal lies in South Tawton Parish approximately 10-12minute walk from where we are situated. It falls within the Dartmoor National Park and is a well preserved historic Town. A place to truly experience the peaceful village life, a place to enjoy good food, friendly people and the history it has to offer.

There is also the tranquillity of Fernworthy reservoir.
