Astoria is located at the mouth of the Columbia River. Watch the large ships come in from the Pacific. Check out the Astoria Column and climb up the spiral staircase. Astoria is worth a visit and a way through town and along the River Esplanade. There're some nice antique stores and museums.

If you're interested in history, here's a big piece of Astoria's story about ship traffic across the bar. The house is a beautiful home, that was ones owned by the Flavel family, which is another interesting story to itself.

Hiking
This is our favorite hike. It's an easy 3 mile out and back hike and provides excellent views to Manzanita, Nehalem Bay, Wheeler and further south, depending on weather.

Manzanita downtown is a must see. It's only a 1.5 mile drive from our house. Check out the nice shops and restaurants. Plus the view to the ocean is amazing.
