Fun things to do within 30 min drive. If you want to take a longer 1.5-2 hour drive, there is always Orlando with the amusement parks.
Nearest beach park to the house (3 miles away). The south end is dog friendly (leashes required) - currently the only dog friendly beach nearby. Public parking, facilities and food trucks. Plenty of other public access north and south of Canova as well.

There is also a great crescent beach with tidal pool protected by a jetty that is great for learning to paddle board, floating around or just allowing the kids to play in gentler waves. Pack and lunch, bring a cooler - has a cafe but small and can get a long line.
Gets crowded on the weekends.
