Nearby Things
There's a Kroger grocery store really close by, literally across the street from the entrance into my community. It's probably about 1/4 of a mile away from my house. There's also an Aldi and Giant Eagle on the main street that connects my home to the highway, so they're also within a 5 minute drive. There are lots of fast food options nearby - Wendy's, Subway, Taco Bell, Arby's, McD's, Tim Hortons, and Dunkin Donuts. Walmart is about a 10 minute drive away and in the same area, there are more commercial businesses and restaurants (Kohls, Target, Olive Garden, Red Robin, etc.).
There's a community rec center right as you turn into my residence complex that has fitness equipment. I'm not sure how much it is, but they offer daily/weekly/monthly passes to the public. There's also an LA Fitness about 10 minutes away and a Planet Fitness about 15 minutes away.
There aren't any shopping malls in the immediate area, but they're a pretty easy drive once you're on the highway. Tuttle Crossing Mall is about a 15 minute drive away, Polaris Mall and Ikea are about 25 minutes away depending on traffic, and Easton Town Center takes about 30 minutes to get to. If you want to shop at the outlets, it takes about 40-45 minutes.

Tex-Mex spot with several locations throughout Columbus (closest is in Old Hilliard - about 15 minutes away) that's a great spot on a nice summer evening for some patio lounging. They pride themselves on craft beers, handcrafted tacos, and finely crafted margaritas.

This is another Tex-Mex spot that has unique tacos and drinks. It's almost identical to Barrio Tacos in Cleveland if you've ever been there. Little more of a bar scene compared to Local Cantina, but the food is just as good. It's a great place to go with a group.

The menu is pricey, but certainly worth it if you're willing to open up your wallet a little bit. Reservations are encouraged.

I think it's state law that you have to try Jeni's at least once whenever you visit Ohio. You can find their shops all over the state, but it started in Columbus!

Among my favorite top breweries here in Columbus - their beers are just really...really good. They don't distribute beyond the city limits so it's worth a downtown visit just to try. They have a taproom and formal dining room - both have unique, delicious menu offerings depending on what you're in the mood for. Check out their weekend brunch for the full experience, although you'll likely need to make reservations for this and the dining area.

Metro parks are available for free to everyone and anyone. They are located all over and offer miles of nature trails (some paved, some not, but all blazed) for walking, running, dog walking, or biking. Most are usually open from dawn to dusk.
