Sweetest staff ever, they sell St. Louis' very own Whisk pastries, make a killer cold brew and Paleo coffee, and have an amazing front patio! Great for relaxing, chatting, and sitting in the sun.

Famous for being featured on Bar Rescue, this is now a lovely little neighborhood place with fantastic happy hour specials , great outdoor seating, and pressed cocktails! Service is not always the greatest, but the pressed cocktails are delightful.

SO GOOD!!!! Work the walk or quick drive over to nearby Fox Park. Enormous and delicious rice paper burritos, extensive vegetarian options, plus a nice selection of wine and beer + outdoor seating. Lona is also the sweetest person ever!

An STL favorite -- quite busy, so go when they open or be prepared to wait awhile! They also do take out if you're not in the mood to sit. Fabulous barbecue smoked right out back, fun bartenders, and live music on the weekends. Truly one of the city's best.

So many yummy, crazy combos here! Jamaican Jerk Dog, Mac and Cheese topped-dog, you name it, it's delicious. Quite cheap and easy to grab and go, and right next door to TGE favorite Tick Tock Tavern. There are benches outside, or you can take your dogs on a stroll to nearby Compton Water Tower Park!

Do not walk - RUN to Clementine's! Literally -- it's a beautiful 2-ish mile jog from Tower Grove, and the calories will be worth it :) This is hands down the best, most innovative, and delightful ice cream in St. Louis. Naughty ice creams are alcohol-infused, nice ones are not, but just as fun! Fabulously unique flavors like Strawberry White Pepper Balsamic, Soju Melon, and Banoffee Pie. They use local ingredients from around Missouri and Illinois. Located in the gorgeous and stately Lafayette Square neighborhood, you can sit outside on the benches, or in the hidden patio, or walk just a block over to Lafayette Park and watch the ducks frolic around the fountain. Can't imagine a better day!

THE place for brunch on Cherokee Street, you've got to get here early or be prepared to hustle for a seat. It's all well-worth it, as they have the perfect balance of great brunch food (think grits, bacon, quiche, and pastries galore), and fabulous locally-roasted hand-brews and lattes. Open early if you've got a busy day ahead of you, great outdoor seating, and nice for studying/working on weekdays.

Flash-frozen ice cream in STL - yum! A close second favorite to Clementine's in the local ice cream category. Slightly pricey, but really worth it for the fresh, soft creaminess - it's halfway between regular ice cream and soft serve. Like Clementine's, they also have boozy flavors. Close to both the Botanical Garden and beautiful Flora Ave. - my favorite street for a nighttime bike ride or stroll.

Oh, Whisk - I love you. Their pastries are all over the city, because they are incredible and innovative (Corn Cookies, STL Scones made with Red Hot Riplets, but also traditional cupcakes, scones, and bottomeless local Kuva coffee). Locally run and woman owned, the space is gorgeously decorated and feels like a second home. Great for studying and people watching on Cherokee - I do both nearly every Saturday!

Drinks & Nightlife

Local dive bar where everyone in TGE goes to wind down on the weekend...or during the week...or daily...it's a true neighborhood fav for the cheap drink specials, outdoor seating, and close proximity to Steve's Hot Dogs.

Parks & Nature

A true hidden gem! Great place to walk, read, and relax any time of day or night. The best thing here the full moon events each month, where the open the water tower for public viewing. There's a beautifully lit fountain there as well!

My absolute favorite park in the city -- if you're an urbanite and like both serenity and being in the middle of everything, you'll really love this place. It's no Forest Park -- just two repurposed blocks in the middle of downtown with fun sculptures, winding trails, a tiny splash pool, and a branch of local coffee magnate Kaldi's with a stunning view. Great for selfies and sun salutations alike.

Neighborhood namesake -- simply gorgeous and perfect for jogging or relaxing under one of the pagodas. It's pretty massive and well-lit in the evenings. On Saturdays, there's a fantastic farmer's market!
