It's now a place called spade and spatula, which is decent. I like their menu offerings, but they seem to have staffing issues as do so many other establishments. Took a very long time to get food.

Awesome elevated view of Crestline and lake Gregory. This is the place to go for Mariscos, fresh chips and salsa and Coronas or margaritas!! Coconut shrimp are delicious!

Sightseeing
Beautiful meandering trail through cedars along an active stream leads to a wonderfully perfectly heart shaped rock.
The trail gets very busy with tourists and if you want to escape civilization, this is not the place to go, for that I’d recommend hiking directly from the chalet, not driving. But there’s a reason it’s popular.

Parks & Nature
This is hiking distance from the chalet. I don’t necessarily recommend the actual lookout tower, it’s rather industrial looking, though if it is staffed, the rangers might have time to give you a quick tour / point out the view. But if you hike in that general direction from the chalet you will enjoy the pine forests and views at the top of the ridge.

Old fashioned thrift shop in the basement beside the grocery store. Not as trendy or high end as the antique shops in Crestline, but some real hidden gems and can’t beat the prices of course.
