These little steam engines take you on a five-mile return journey alongside Lake Padarn, right in the heart of Snowdonia, and is a great activity for the whole family. The journey takes you past the 13th century, Dolbadarn Castle, across possibly Britain's shortest river and past Llanberis' twin lakes. From Llanberis the train runs non-stop through the Padarn Country Park, joining the 1845 slate railway route to run along the shores of Lake Padarn to Penllyn, and giving stunning views of Snowdon, the highest peak in England and Wales. For more information, train times and to book please visit their website http://www.lake-railway.co.uk/

Dolbadarn Castle is a fortification built by the Welsh prince Llywelyn the Great during the early 13th century, at the base of the Llanberis Pass. It is a small historic castle, with beautiful views, and I recommend you have a look at it if you're passing.

Learn about the heart of Welsh industry at The National Slate Museum and learn about Dinorwig Quarry which closed in 1969. Today, rather than fashioning wagons and forging rails, the workshops tell a very special story: the story of the Welsh slate industry. The museum is free to enter and has many expeditions for all the family. For more information on opening times and what's on here please give their website a visit https://museum.wales/slate/

Snowdon is the highest mountain in Wales, at an elevation of 1,085 metres above sea level, and the highest point in the British Isles outside the Scottish Highlands. It is located in Snowdonia National Park in Gwynedd. The summit can be reached by a number of paths, and by the Snowdon Mountain Railway, a rack railway opened in 1896 which carries passengers the 4.7 miles (7.6 km) from Llanberis to the summit station. The summit also houses a cafe called Hafod Eryri, open only when the railway is operating.

The waterfall is formed as the Afon Goch plunges about 120 feet (37 m) over a sill of igneous rock in the foothills of the Carneddau range. I would definitely recommend you go for a visit to see this beautiful waterfall, especially on a sunny day.
