Great places to eat (walkable from the yacht)
Seaport Marina has several great places to eat at a walkable distance from our yacht.
Ideally situated near to the marina, (just across the road). In a perfect location next to the flight of locks at Muirtown, the cafe is renowned for excellent coffee and tea and breakfast options. Eat in or takeaway back to 'Highwayman' and enjoy dining on the back deck. Adrian particularly loves the bacon & egg rolls - but there are also healthier options!

A 20 minute fabulously picturesque walk up the towpath brings you to this lovely pub/restaurant with excellent meal options in a traditional pub setting. Alternatively a short drive (approach by the road over the bridge by turning RIGHT out of the marina). Always worth phoning ahead at busy times.

Social enterprise which combines a vegetarian cafe with a bicycle workshop. It serves great savoury food as well as sweets (cakes, including vegan), and drinks in an informal atmosphere. We always enjoy going here.

A lovely little place that serves light meals, coffee and handmade doughnuts. It has meatand vegan options available. Has an interesting vegan sandwich and a vegan colada doughnut made with pineapples and cherries. Oat, soya, and almond milks available for coffee (for a charge). A great place - one of our favourites.

Sightseeing
The Highlands are full of beautiful places to go and see - far too many to mention here. But here are just a selection.
The Caledonian Canal cuts right across Scotland from East to West - from Inverness in the East to the west coast at Corpach near Fort William . Built in the 19th century, it was designed by Scottish engineer Thomas Telford. Take a boat cruise along it, or just walk to the eastern point where is meets the Moray Firth - You will not be disappointed!

We love the magical atmosphere of this serene Loch. It's the second largest loch in Scotland - world famous because of the many alleged sighting of the legendary Loch Ness monster. Also take a boat trip to Urquhart Castle. Approximately 37 kilometres (23 miles) southwest of Inverness - well worth a trip.

About an hour's drive from Inverness, Fort Augustus is a really pretty little town. It's at the bottom end of Loch Ness, and we like to drive on one side of the Loch to get there, (on the A82), and take the equally scenic route on the other side of the loch (on the B851 or B852). Scenic driving and a lovely flight of locks on the canal as well as as the Caledonian Canal Centre (and restaurant) 'Monster Fish & Chips' has to be experienced while you are there - they are awesome!
